Our Story...
Andrew and Kae's story began when they were both sixteen years old: enrolled in the same online high-school biology class. They had no idea that the name appearing on each of their laptop screens was, against all odds, their soulmate.
Andrew and Kae's story began when they were both sixteen years old: enrolled in the same online high-school biology class. They had no idea that the name appearing on each of their laptop screens was, against all odds, their soulmate.
They, with the rest of their biology classmates, got along well and soon formed a study group, through which they communicated throughout the week. Texting eventually became frequent video calls, during which they spent hours being the funniest two people to ever live. Friendship blossomed into attraction, and Andrew confessed his feelings to Kae on May 18, 2019, which she (obviously) reciprocated.
The two dated for five months while living 800 miles apart without ever meeting in person. They filled their time talking, laughing, playing video games and board games, doing matching crafts, sending each other letters and packages, and reading books aloud at all hours of the day and night.
They met in person for the first time in October of that year. After more than a year of friendship with just a tiny image on a screen, nothing was more surreal than running into the arms of a real, breathing, heart-beating human being. From that time, Andrew and Kae visited each other as often as possible, flying back and forth between Colorado and Illinois/Missouri every few months for the next five years.
In June of 2024, after five full years of long-distance love, Kae decided that it was time for change. She took the leap of moving to Colorado (along with her dog, Bean) with the goal of resolving their courtship. They spent the remainder of 2024 enjoying something wonderful for the first time in their relationship: normalcy. They attended church together, made music, went on dates, enjoyed time with friends, and escaped frequently to the mountains.
It was at the top of one of those mountains after a grueling snowy climb where, finally, Andrew proposed to Kae on January 11, 2025. It had been so long coming that Kae asked to hear the question again before answering it, just to live in that wonderful moment for as long as possible. Upon hearing the question one more time, Kae said yes.
